USA, Vol. 1 Puts Ten VaterSon Songs From Seven Years in Front of American Hard Rock Crowds
The Swedish Father-and-Son Duo Collected Their Songs Before Three US Support Dates in October
USA, Vol. 1 gathers ten songs by VaterSon, the Swedish father-and-son hard rock duo. It went up on Spotify on 6 October 2026. The oldest of those songs had official videos in 2019. In addition, the album arrived weeks before three US dates opening for Texas Hippie Coalition.
VaterSon’s These City Streets now sits on our rock playlist. The duo’s full run of coverage is collected on the VaterSon artist profile. USA, Vol. 1 reached this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news desks. Press play on the album, then read on for who it is for.

USA, Vol. 1 Brings VaterSon and Their Hard Rock to Fans of Rammstein, Godsmack and Foo Fighters
VaterSon make the pitch themselves. Their Facebook page tells fans of Rammstein, Godsmack and Foo Fighters to check them out. That is the listener this album serves. It suits people who want heavy, riff-led hard rock and do not mind that VaterSon are two players rather than five.
The two players are Jimmy Drexler and his son, André Drexler, from Malmö, Sweden. Their band name joins the German word for father to the English word son.
On These City Streets, Jimmy wrote the words and the music and produced the track. Meanwhile, André co-wrote the music and plays the drums. The song starts fast, with a grinding guitar riff and hard-hitting drums inside the first seconds. Its subject is war, and the way a cruel world keeps accepting it.

The tracklist works as a guided tour. Trigger of a Gun, Mama, Walk this Earth and The Wall sit alongside I am alone again. The closing track is I am who I am. As a result, a new listener gets the duo’s whole range in one sitting, without digging through seven years of scattered singles and videos.
Foo Fighters and Godsmack, Two Acts From VaterSon’s Own List
The named influences also explain the approach. In October 1994, Dave Grohl spent one week at Robert Lang Studios recording the first Foo Fighters album. He sang and played every instrument himself, and only then recruited a band to play it live. Grohl built the sound first and found the band later, whereas VaterSon’s family line-up has been the band from the start.
Godsmack show the other half of the plan. Boston radio stations played Keep Away and Whatever from the self-financed All Wound Up. Demand soon outgrew the band, and Republic and Universal reissued the record as Godsmack in 1998. In other words, the audience came first and the bigger stage followed.

How the Hard Rock Singles From VaterSon Were First Received Before the Album
Several of these songs had a reception before the album existed. In July 2025, Rock Era Magazine called These City Streets aggressive and full of energy. Also that month, Audiokaradi Press Co. put it in a round-up of new rock.
Later that summer, the duo released Shameless, a single that is not on this album. FV Music Blog listed it among its hot picks in August. Then, in September, Cheers To The Vikings heard hammering drums, a heavy low end and pointed guitar riffs, a sound it thought too big for a two-piece.
The numbers show a steady following. On Spotify, the hard rock duo VaterSon had about 5,800 monthly listeners at the start of November. On YouTube, the 2019 video for The Wall has passed 2,900 views.
BestMusic.News’s curator team: “Ten songs from seven years, collected for one trip, give a new listener a fast way into VaterSon. It is the right introduction to a band that makes its case on stage.”
The Hard Rock Community Around VaterSon Grew From Swedish Stages to Three Nights With Texas Hippie Coalition
The road is where this duo builds its audience. In 2025 they were lined up for festival dates across Sweden. Then, in October 2026, they took the album to the US, opening for Texas Hippie Coalition on three nights. The duo’s own tour poster lists Rec Room in Buffalo on 23 October, The Song & Dance in Syracuse on 24 October and Empire Underground in Albany on 25 October.
On 26 October the band posted that the US run was a wrap and thanked the headliners. One fan replied that they had seen the duo in Syracuse and hoped to see them play again.
Back home, their Facebook page counts about 1,100 followers. Their TikTok account describes VaterSon simply as a hard-working father-and-son duo.
