Three Times Nothing by Clopidi: Four Alternative Rock Tracks From One Musician in Hamburg
A French Engineer and Former Kecks Drummer Builds an Alternative Rock EP on His Own
Four tracks, just under fifteen minutes and one musician. That is the tally behind Three Times Nothing, the EP Clopidi released on 3 April 2026. Clopidi is the Hamburg project of a French musician and engineer who writes and produces the music himself. The EP moves between alternative rock, grunge and melodic indie, and the listeners it suits are easy to name.
Clopidi’s No Random, from Three Times Nothing, sits in the playlist below. Everything written about the band so far sits on the Clopidi profile. The EP reached BestMusic.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Give it a spin, then keep reading for who the four tracks suit.

Who Three Times Nothing Is For, From Grunge Listeners to Fans of Melodic Indie Rock
The track list sets out the audience. At the Wheel opens the EP with a lyric about getting older and watching the hype fade. The song also fears what its narrator might become. No Random follows with a song about practice and preparation. Its narrator sings from inside the nerves of someone who cannot leave anything to chance. Trois Fois Rien gives the EP its title in French. Finally, Light Mess closes it as the longest track, at just under five minutes.
As a result, that spread points to three groups of listeners. The first is grunge listeners, who will recognise the darker themes of fear and loss of control. The second is fans of melodic indie rock, since Clopidi also files the EP under melodic pop rock. The third is French-speaking listeners, because the project’s 2022 single Le Banc has lyrics entirely in French.
Two Reference Points
The best comparison starts behind the drum kit. Clopidi’s founder drummed for the Hamburg indie band The Kecks, then left to build the project on his own. In fact, that path has a famous precedent. In October 1994, former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl recorded the first Foo Fighters album by himself in six days. He played every instrument except one guitar part. The scale is different, but the method is the same: one player, every part, one vision.
Similarly, the melodic side has its own precedent. The 1994 debut by Weezer, produced by Ric Ocasek, showed how pop melodies could sit inside a loud guitar record. Listeners who like that balance will find a version of it here. After all, Clopidi places the EP between grunge and melodic pop rock.

The Early Response to Clopidi and the Hamburg Community Behind a One-Man Project
From My Window to Three Times Nothing
The project had an early champion. The independent music blog Vanadian Avenue interviewed Clopidi’s founder in February 2022 for its Indieterria series. That came soon after the debut single My Window arrived in December 2021. Then, in July 2022, the same blog premiered the video for Le Banc. It also called Clopidi one of the most charming and original indie acts of the past year. Three Times Nothing is the first release since then. On release day, No Random also went up on YouTube as official audio. Meanwhile, the Bandcamp page carries the lyrics.

The Community Around Clopidi
Clopidi records in a converted bunker in Hamburg’s St. Pauli district, a rehearsal space with a story of its own. From there, the circle widens. It includes The Kecks, the band its founder drummed for from 2017 to the end of 2019. Some called them the Strokes of Hamburg. It also includes the visual artist Lucas Schwob, who has made the project’s videos with him. For My Window, they built a stop-motion house from everyday objects. For Le Banc, they filmed a masked band on a park bench.
The project also rests on a choice. When he launched it, its founder chose not to put his own name or face on Clopidi. As he explained in 2022, he wants it to grow into a collaborative project with other musicians and artists. In other words, that openness is part of its appeal. Listeners are not following one personality. Instead, they are following a band that is still taking shape, one release at a time.
From the BestMusic.News Curator Team: “The number that matters here is one. One person wrote and produced these four songs, yet the project presents itself as a band. That is the clearest sign of where it is heading, and why it is worth following now.”
