Electric Violin, Electric Cello and a Fencing Duel: Who Navia by Pinky Loops Is For

A Polish Electric String Duo, a Looped Albéniz Quote and a Video Fought with Foils

The tally first: 42,486 YouTube views by 17 October 2026 for the Navia video by Pinky Loops, posted on 6 September 2021. Behind that figure sits a Polish electric string duo. Pinky Loops builds every sound in Navia from two instruments, an electric violin and an electric cello, run through guitar effects and a looper.

Pinky Loops sit in the playlist below, alongside the jazz, classical and cinematic records this desk is tracking, and the Pinky Loops profile holds the rest of their coverage. Navia reached BestMusic.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news desks. Press play, then keep reading.

Navia puts classical training and electronic production into one piece of music. It first appeared on 20 August 2021 on Evolutions, the second Pinky Loops album. Each track on that record carries a looped quotation from a classical composer. In Navia, the quotation comes from Isaac Albéniz’s Asturias, a piece many listeners know from the classical guitar repertoire. Here it returns in a contemporary electronic setting.

Three Kinds of Listener Who Should Start With Navia

The track suits three kinds of listener. First, people who came to strings through crossover acts such as 2CELLOS will recognise the method: two classically trained players reworking melody for a modern audience. Second, fans of Lindsey Stirling will hear a familiar pairing of bowed strings and electronic production. Here, though, every part comes from the two instruments. Third, listeners who like instrumental music with the character of a film score will find plenty to hold on to. That is how the duo describes its own writing.

The arrangement grows from effects and layered loops, so each new part arrives on top of the last. The duo plays live with the same set-up. Their looper records a motif during a performance, plays it back as accompaniment and stacks further parts above it. As a result, two players can sound like a small string section.

Joanna Czerwińska plays the cello and Marta Lutrzykowska the violin. Both started at the age of seven and graduated from the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. They formed Pinky Loops in 2017 and released a debut album, Polifonic, in 2019.

From a Bydgoszcz Culture Centre to a Brazilian Blog, the Early Response to Navia by Pinky Loops

The recording and the video both come from Bydgoszcz. Sound engineer Jędrzej Roch Rochecki recorded the track at the city’s culture centre, the MCK, and the crew filmed the video there too. It marked the directing debut of photographer Anna Łukaszewicz. The fencers on screen are Jakub Kozłowski and Tomasz Stróżyński from the UKS MDK5 Bydgoszcz club. Their bout works as a visual counterpart to the rhythm of the strings, while the duo performs alongside them.

Fencing is familiar ground for Pinky Loops. In April 2019 the duo played live at the opening gala of the Junior and Cadet World Fencing Championships in Toruń. Steve Nash, who composed the music for that gala, invited them. So the central image of the video connects to a real chapter in their history.

Response also arrived from outside Poland. In January 2023 the Brazilian site Music For All covered Evolutions and the Navia clip. It chose one word to sum up the duo’s premise: duel. The release has also had support from L’oeil musical and the European Indie Music Network. For an instrumental track with no lyric to carry it, that spread across languages is the more telling result.

Who Rallies Around Pinky Loops and Navia, From Breakfast Television to a Bydgoszcz Fencing Club

The community around Pinky Loops starts close to home. The editors of three regional papers, Gazeta Pomorska, Express Bydgoski and Nowości Dziennik Toruński, nominated the pair for Personality of the Year 2019 in the culture category. The nomination cited the electric duo they had built around a looper, and the release of Polifonic.

National exposure followed in 2021, when the pair appeared on Dzień Dobry TVN, the TVN breakfast programme. They explained the looper and talked about joining classical music with modern production. Then they closed with Summerlove, a piece that quotes George Gershwin’s Summertime.

The catalogue keeps moving in the same direction. Two recent singles, Battle Without Honor Or Humanity in November 2024 and Darkstar / Top Gun Anthem on 2 October 2026, show that the film-music side of the repertoire is still active. The duo also still takes the stage in its signature pink high heels. That detail shows presentation counts as part of the performance.

Where to Watch Navia and Follow Pinky Loops

BestMusic.News’s curator team: “In under four minutes, Navia turns one borrowed phrase from Albéniz into a full string arrangement played by two people. That economy is the reason it keeps finding new listeners five years after release.”

Stream Navia on the Evolutions album via Spotify or Apple Music. Then follow Pinky Loops across platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, SoundCloud, YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and the duo’s official website.
